Just Getting Started

After seeing several friends keep loved ones updated on the goings-on of their families, I have been compelled to try to remember some of what is going on in the lives of my family members. It seems I recall saying to myself that there would never be a time when I wouldn't remember cute things our children said or silly things they may have done. Well I can say that just these few years later, we find ourselves saying things like 'which kid used to say...?' or ' how did they used to say adventure?' or even 'OMG I can't believe we forgot about that!'

I have begun to realize that time is slipping away all too quickly as my 7 yr old is starting most mornings with the "I don't want to wear THAT" argument, and my 4 yr old is just 7 short months from starting Kindergarten....HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??

Sure, there are days that I feel I have yelled to much and berate myself for losing my cool over another mess, but most days I love the hectic ball that is our lives. I silently cheer myself on as we get complements on our childrens behavior at restaurants, stores and friends houses and swear to myself that I will remind myself of those compliments the next time a child is stomping to his/her room or having a 'show-off' meltdown at Grandma's house.

I am going to give this blog a try in hopes of at least having some concrete evidence that each day we try our best and most days the children fall asleep clean, fed and happy. However, I'm sure there will be a few days mixed in where they will fall asleep with a dirty face and a scowl over something they will not remember in the morning.
